DeKalb County Board of Health

Case Study
Increasing COVID-19 health awareness and vaccination rates in targeted and minority-specific communities
The DeKalb County Board of Health (BOH) wanted to increase COVID-19 vaccine confidence and uptake among population segments where vaccination rates were below the overall county average – African Americans, Hispanics, 18-34-year-olds, and teens.
JacobsEye’s initial research showed that misinformation or lack of information significantly deters vaccination, particularly in targeted minority communities. JE created an integrated bilingual marketing campaign to debunk and stop COVID-19 vaccine myths, and point people to the DeKalb County BOH for vaccinations.
Our support of the County included an integrated media campaign of digital display advertising, OOH, organic and paid social media, TV/video, and radio. We designed and developed the bilingual website GetTheFactsDeKalb.org and leveraged a local celebrity influencer to broaden the campaign’s reach within the Hispanic community.
